How to reset the service indicator on a Volkswagen Polo MK5

Let's see how to reset the service light on a Volkswagen Polo MK5. Make sure the ignition is off. Press and hold the reset button located below the tachometer, which may also be labeled as "set" or "0.0" or have the icon of a wrench. In any case, its function is always the same. While holding the button, insert the key into the ignition and turn on the instrument cluster. Continue holding the button; after a few seconds, a message like "service oil" followed by "reset?" or "release set button" should appear on the display. Then release the reset button. Briefly press the same button. The message on the display will change to "service confirmed" or "-----" indicating that the reset has been successful. Turn off the ignition. The reset is complete.
