How do you reset the Service light on the Volkswagen Polo?

It is possible to completely erase the Service indicator light that is shown on the instrument panel of the Volkswagen Polo by pressing and holding the button located on the right side of the panel: by continuing to hold down the button, it will be possible to insert the ignition key into the corresponding slot. At this point, it will be possible to turn the key and start the engine while still holding down the button to ensure that the indicator light disappears completely; once the light has been reset, the procedure can be completed by turning off the instrument panel.
