How to reset the service light on a Volkswagen T4 van.

Model: Volkswagen Transporter T4, MK 4 - Years 1990-2003

The described procedure is used to reset both the "service" and "insp" lights on T4 models with an analog dashboard. Insert the key into the ignition, press and hold the reset button for the trip odometer, and with the other hand, turn the clock adjustment knob located next to the speedometer to the right, clockwise. While holding both buttons, turn on the ignition: the display will show the message: "service oil" or "service insp." Release both controls, turn off the ignition, and repeat the cycle another 2-3 times. At the end, the warning light should be gone.
