Here’s how to install a second battery in your Volkswagen Transporter T6: the battery is installed in the space under the passenger seat, in the OEM position, using an anti-vibration metal mounting bracket. The positive red cable is 25 mm² in cross-section, which is adequate, as is the 100 Amp fuse installed near the main battery: for the earth connection, the surface has been scraped for better electrical contact, and the connection has been made correctly to a dedicated point on the chassis. However, a charge separator is missing, so the batteries can discharge each other when the engine is off. The solution is to add a smart relay and a digital voltmeter to monitor both batteries; also, in some critical areas, there are cables that could risk abrasion due to their placement; but this is a problem that can be solved with flexible sheathing.
