Learn how to remove the handbrake cable from a Volkswagen Touran. First, locate the bolt that secures the cable to the caliper or support; the cable is usually held by one or more plastic or metal clips. Use a screwdriver to pry and unlock these clips. The video suggests placing a screwdriver and pushing down to unlock. It is recommended to heat part of the connector or pin; over time and with rust, the cable tends to get stuck in the mechanism. If not heated, you risk breaking the pin or support. Warm air will help slightly expand the metal and dissolve any rust residues, making extraction easier. You should then be able to pull the cable from its housing. If the clip breaks (as shown in the video), consider replacing it to avoid noise or unstable fittings.
