How to Remove the Rear Lights on a Volkswagen Golf

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf VII, MK 7, Golf 7 - Years 2012-2019

To remove the rear lights on a Volkswagen Golf 7, open the tailgate and locate the side internal trim of the boot, corresponding to the light you wish to remove. Remove the access flap or slightly lift the trim to access the securing nuts of the light. Unscrew the nuts that secure the light assembly using an appropriate spanner, usually 8 mm or 10 mm. Once the nuts are removed, grasp the light from the outside and gently pull it outwards to disengage it from the side guides. When the light is free, disconnect the electrical connector at the back by pressing the locking tab. At this point, you can completely remove the rear light assembly.
