How to Reset the Climate Control on a Volkswagen Golf V

To reset the climatronic on a Volkswagen Golf V, you can access a hidden menu that performs a visual self-diagnosis (which cannot be defined as a true reset of the system, which can only be done with calibration using professional tools). The procedure is illustrated in the video; press the "ECON" button and the button with the upward arrow (air flow to the windscreen) simultaneously. Keep both pressed until the climate display changes. At this point, you can rotate the left temperature knob to scroll through various diagnostic channels (internal temperatures, gas pressure, etc.). To exit, press "ECON" again or turn off the ignition.
