How to replace the internal rear-view mirror on a Volkswagen Golf

To replace the internal rear-view mirror on a Volkswagen Golf, start by detaching the plastic cover that hides the base of the mirror on the windscreen. If the unit is electric, first disconnect the connector located at the back of the mirror. To remove the mirror from the mount, release the locking mechanism located under the base and gently slide it downwards. To install the new mirror, insert it onto the mount and push upwards until you hear the lock click. Reconnect the electrical connector if present and reposition the plastic cover on the base, ensuring that the wires are completely hidden and that the mirror is stable.
