Learn how to replace the battery of the Volkswagen ID 3 key when it runs out. For this operation, you will need a flathead screwdriver and a CR2032 battery. To replace the battery, first remove the emergency key by pressing the button on the side to unlock it, then pull the key outwards.

Once the key is removed, insert the screwdriver between the two plastic parts, then lever it to remove the cover. After removing the cover, use the screwdriver to take out the battery.

Now replace the battery, then reinsert the cover by pressing it with your fingers and finally reinsert the emergency key into its designated slot.
