To reset the maintenance indicator on a Volkswagen Polo, first turn off the instrument cluster and locate the trip reset button. Press and hold this button while turning on the cluster without starting the engine.

When the service indicator appears on the display, release the button and turn the knob used to set the clock to the right until the maintenance warning disappears. At this point, turn off the cluster and turn it back on to check that the light has been correctly reset.

This procedure should only be performed after completing the service as specified by the manufacturer.
