Removing the Front Door Panel

Model: Volkswagen Golf MK 5, Golf 5, Golf V - Years 2003-2008

Unscrew the screws on the armrest. Remove the panel by prying with a screwdriver on the various plastic clips and then push it upwards. Be careful of the cables connected to it that need to be removed to fully detach the panel. Unscrew all the screws around the panel to access other fixing screws. Unscrew the screws securing the pillar cover and remove it. Some screws are hidden under plastic caps that need to be removed using a plastic tool to avoid damaging the panel. Pull the panel to release all the plastic clips. Carefully slide the panel upwards to release additional clips. Disconnect the speaker cables and other services. You now have access to the internal components.
