Replacement of Rear Bonnet Struts

Replacing the rear bonnet support struts with gas springs of higher rating can allow for quicker and automatic opening, meaning the bonnet lifts on its own without needing to be assisted by hand. Remove the sliding safety clip at the strut head and pull it outwards to detach it from the ball joint. Then unscrew the bonnet stop rubber (to facilitate the insertion of the key) and the ball joint; screw in the new ball joint and fit the new strut, first opening the safety clip and closing it after securing the head onto the ball; reassemble the rubber and adjust it. Repeat the same operations on the other side.
