Dismantling the Steering Box

Lift the front of the vehicle and support it on two axle stands. The next step is to remove the wheels. Ensure the car is stable, perhaps by blocking the rear wheels with obstacles. Disconnect the steering tie rod ends from the hubs and unscrew the bolts behind the car's pedal assembly that cover the steering column. To carry out the work, the lower cover of the car must also be removed. Use the cover, during removal, to support the steering box with the aid of a jack. After disconnecting the steering shaft pinion, remove the bolt that secures the box on the right side of the car. At this point, the steering box is completely supported by the car's cover, which, once fully lowered, allows for its removal.
