How to Replace the Key Battery in a Golf 7

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf VII, MK 7, Golf 7 - Years 2012-2019

To replace the battery in the remote key of a Golf 7, extract the key by pressing the designated button. Once extracted, use a screwdriver to lever in the slot where the key was housed and remove the plastic cover (the one under the Volkswagen logo, on the side opposite the remote buttons). Using the screwdriver again, extract the battery. Insert the new battery with the negative pole facing down and the positive pole facing you, sliding it under the plastic tab as shown at the end of the video. Finally, refit the plastic cover and press it into place with light pressure.
