Start by opening the physical key of your Volkswagen T-Cross by pressing the designated button. This will create a side slot in the key. Next, insert a thin but sturdy tool into this slot and lever it to remove the rear cover of the key. Once this step is complete, you will have access to the internal battery of the key. To remove it, simply pull it out of its housing, and you will have finished the disassembly.

To install the new battery and close the key, simply reverse these instructions, and you will have completed the replacement.
