How to Adjust the Points on a Volkswagen Beetle?

To adjust the points on a Volkswagen Beetle, first remove the distributor so that it can be extracted from its housing. Once the distributor is removed, loosen the fastening bolts that secure the upper part, remove it, and access the underlying components. Here you will find the vacuum advance unit, which, once removed, will allow access to the contact points: these should be set with a gap of 0.4 mm between the two electrodes. After adjustment, reassemble and refit the distributor.
