Where to Find the Fuses of the Volkswagen Golf 6

To change a fuse in the Volkswagen Golf 6, start by locating the fuse box. One fuse box is located on the left side of the dashboard (the plastic that aligns with the door closure); there is a small slot where you can insert a flathead screwdriver. Pry off the cover, and on the inside, you will find a small diagram depicting the fuse box, indicating the location of the fuses, the systems they control, and their amperage. To remove a fuse, you will find a small pair of tweezers at the top of the box to extract the fuse; take the fuse you need to change, pull it out, and check if it needs replacing: if the bridge is intact, the fuse is good; if the bridge is broken, the fuse needs changing. If the fuse needs replacing, take a new fuse of the same amperage and insert it in the place of the old fuse. Another fuse box is located in the engine compartment next to the battery; remove the cover by releasing the clips. Inside the cover, you will find a small diagram depicting the fuse box, indicating the location of the fuses, the systems they control, and their amperage. If a fuse needs replacing, use the same tweezers to remove the fuses in the dashboard and follow the same procedure for the box in the dashboard to change a fuse. If there is no diagram on the covers of the two boxes, you can find this legend in the user and maintenance manual.
