If the radio on your Volkswagen Tiguan is frozen, keeps restarting, and does not respond to commands, you may need to reset the device: first, disconnect the battery cables. Then, remove the panel surrounding the display and loosen the screws underneath so that the radio can be extracted from its housing by disconnecting the rear connectors. This will also allow you to perform a firmware update; after these operations are completed, you should find that the device is functioning again.
