This guide shows how to perform the emergency release of the fuel flap on the Volkswagen Passat B5. The first step is to open the boot of the vehicle and access the compartment on the right side. Unscrew the small screw securing the plastic protective panel at the top; remove the panel to access the electric motor that operates the flap. The release is performed by pulling the small control rod located at the back of the electric assembly. At this point, you can manually operate the opening of the compartment.
