How to Remove the Fuel Flap Actuator from a Volkswagen Passat

To remove the fuel flap actuator from a Volkswagen Passat, open the flap and remove the screw located underneath. Next, unscrew the cap and pull out the rubber membrane: pulling the membrane will also detach the flap and the breather pipe. At this point, the actuator can be freed from its housing but cannot yet be removed. This is because you need to remove a pin located inside the boot, which, once removed, will allow you to take off the actuator clip. Once the entire piece has been extracted, you can replace it.
