Volkswagen Polo - Video tutorial

Model: Volkswagen Polo Polo 6, MK VI, AW1, MK 6, Polo VI - Years 2017-2024
Part: Bodywork
Operation: Installation of aluminum door sill guards for Volkswagen Polo

Let's see how to mount the Volkswagen Genuine aluminum door sill guards on a late series Polo. These strips can be bought directly from a Volkswagen spare parts dealer or on Amazon, the code is in any case 2G0071303A and they cost 83.30 euros for the pair, free delivery. Assembly is very simple. First we have to clean the part of the bodywork well with water where we are going to glue the strip with the double-sided adhesive. Then we will use one of the cleaning wipes supplied with the kit, then we will wait about five minutes for it to dry perfectly. Then we have to take some references to make sure we don't put them wrong, referring to the sill embossed on the rubber of the lining. In the package there is an envelope of catalyst for the glue to be diluted in water. We spray it on the bodywork and then peel off the adhesive backing. We also spray the catalyst on top of the adhesive and position carefully, exerting a certain pressure. With the cleaning wipe, we remove the marker marks that we used to take the measurements.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
