How to Replace the Key Battery on a Volkswagen Routan

If you need to replace the battery in your remote key, refer to the instructions below. Use a sharp object to pry open the side profile of the key cover. Once the security key is extracted and the cover is removed, lift the block containing the buttons, and you will find the battery underneath. Use the same sharp object to pry it out of its housing and take the new CR 2032 battery to insert it into its place. Then, reposition the block with the buttons and reattach the key cover.
