The Volkswagen Routan remote control uses a button cell with code C2032. Let's get one before proceeding to open the remote. It is advisable to always keep one in reserve, for emergencies. We proceed to the replacement. We remove the key blade and, with the help of a screwdriver, remove the remote control frame. We lift the keypad so that we can access the battery, remove the old one and replace it with the new battery making sure to position it in the correct direction. We close the remote control and put the key blade back in its place.
