Volkswagen Golf - Video tutorial

Model: Volkswagen Golf MK 4, Golf IV, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003
Part: Bodywork
Operation: Rear hood disassembly instructions

To be able to disassemble the rear bonnet it is first of all necessary to free it from the wiring: then start by removing the trim panel and the side uprights to access the wiring; then disconnect all the sockets, that of the wiper motor, of the locks, of the rear window defrost and also the tube of the windscreen washer; then free all the cable glands and remove the wiring in order to free the tailgate; at this point it is possible to unscrew the fixing pins of the hinges of the hatch itself and remove it from its seat: perhaps at this stage you could get a hand to avoid damage given the considerable weight of the hatch.
