Guide to Removing the Front Bumper and Grille

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003

There are numerous maintenance tasks you can perform by removing the front bumper. In just a few minutes, with a screwdriver and a bit of patience, you can complete the operation.
Open the car's bonnet. There are 3 clips at the front, as shown in the video, that need to be released.
You can unclip the side clips by hand; for the central one, use the tip of a screwdriver to lift the trim and access the screws underneath that you will need to unscrew.
Now move to the lower part of the bumper. On the side, remove the unpainted grille and unscrew the screw underneath, repeating the operation on the opposite side.
The next screws are located inside the front wheel arch. Starting from the driver's side, turn the steering wheel towards the passenger side. Now that you have space, proceed to remove the 4 screws, repeating the same process on the other side of the car.
The bumper is almost completely free. Unclip it from one side, then the other, and finally, carefully free it from the central part. The job is done.
