In this video we see how to replace the timing belt on a Volkswagen Passat version B7. First we have to lift the car using a jack, and then keep it raised by means of two stands. It's good not to stare too much at our jack. We use a 16 wrench to loosen the belt tensioner. When you change the belt, it is good practice to also change the tensioner: we can find the complete kit on Auto-doc for less than 50.00 euros (+9.95 euros for transport costs), then we remove the belt. The video shows us a handy diagram of how the belt passes between the various gears; in this way it will be easy to reinstall it, after having changed the idler wheel. Tighten the nut by 16 and the operation is complete.
