In this video, learn how to change the auxiliary belt on a Volkswagen Passat B7. You will need a 16 mm spanner. The video shows where to find this belt. There isn't much space to work, so you may need to perform some small acrobatics. Place the 16 mm spanner on the tensioner pulley and pull towards the front of the engine to loosen the belt tension, but do not release it completely, as this could cause damage. It is ideal to do this with two people, as demonstrated by the YouTuber, who managed to remove and reposition the belt fairly easily (unfortunately, we do not see this as their assistant was operating the camera). Ensure that when you place the belt on the crankshaft pulley, the teeth of the belt are correctly positioned.
