Operation: How to change the fuel pump on a Volkswagen Touareg.

The first thing to know about the fuel pump of the Volkswagen Touareg is that it is located under the rear passenger seat. To access it, the first time we need to lift the seat, temporarily remove the seat belt attachment, and cut the carpet to expose the cap that allows access to the pump. After the first time, it will be easier; just remove the cover and we will have access to the tank where the pump is located, through the cap behind the driver's seat. In this video, the diagnosis is done using the instrumentation, but simply opening the cap and removing the electrical connectors will reveal the fuel pump. Of course, always work with protective gloves when working around fuel. Once you have removed it, you can replace it, then reattach it to the connectors and put it back in place.
