Replacement of the Fuel Pump

Model: Volkswagen Touareg MK 1, 7L - Years 2002-2010

This video shows how to replace the fuel pump on a Volkswagen Touareg. The pump is located near the rear seat, so you need to lift the seat. It is situated under the grey carpet: first, remove the plate that supports the seatbelt anchor by unscrewing the bolts; use a blade to cut and remove the section of carpet covering the pump. Once you locate the primary pump, use a 10 mm socket to remove the bolts securing the cover. Clean the upper part with compressed air, then disconnect the connection and the fuel lines. Use a chisel-type screwdriver to remove the gasket from the cover, and then lift the white cover. Now, disconnect the internal connections and, with some effort, extract the pump. Follow the same procedure for the secondary pump located on the other side of the rear seat. Reconnect the fuel line between the two pumps and replace them if damaged. Restore the original condition.
