How to Open the Boot of a Volkswagen Passat with a Flat Battery

What to do if the battery of your Volkswagen Passat is flat but you need to open the rear hatch? You can access it through the back seat: enter the car from the rear and locate the lock. Use a screwdriver to push towards the driver's seat. This will move the seat towards you. Do the same on the other side so that both halves of the rear seat fold down. Remove the parcel shelf covering the boot space, and at this point, you can access the lock from the inside. On the right side of the lock, there is a small button that, when pressed, will allow you to open the boot from the inside.
