Replacing the Timing Belt

Model: Volkswagen Passat B6, 3C - Years 2005-2010

Position your car on supports to remove the lower panel covering the engine. Remove the front wheels and their respective wheel arch liners by unscrewing the bolts and screws. Open the bonnet and remove the cover next to the engine, then remove the ties that secure the pipes running over the engine. Also, remove the pipes connected next to the engine coolant reservoir. To remove the belt, you must first loosen it by lowering the lever located just above the belt and holding it in that position with a nail. Remember the orientation of the belt by noting the position of the letters. Now, from the underside of the car, remove the pulley fitted on the pump and reposition the lever you moved earlier to remove the belt. Now replace the belt with the new one and retrace the steps in reverse.
