How do you replace the gear knob of the Volkswagen Transporter?

In order to replace the gear knob of the Volkswagen Transporter, you need to pry with an object so that the cover on the top of the knob can be detached: under this cover, you will find a screw that needs to be loosened. By removing this screw, you will be able to detach the knob from the top of the lever and then also detach the leather cover on the bottom: once these two components have been removed, you can insert the new replacement parts making sure they are securely fixed.
