How do you adjust the handbrake of the Volvo S80?

In order to adjust the handbrake of the Volvo S80, you will first need to locate the mechanism that allows for adjustment of the system: this component will be found in the lower part of the trunk, immediately under the carpet lining. Once the carpet is lifted, you will be able to locate the actuator that needs to be adjusted using the appropriate wrench. Tightening the bolt will make the handbrake lever heavier, reducing its travel; conversely, loosening the bolt will make the lever lighter and increase its travel.
