Dismantling the Instrument Cluster to Replace Bulbs

Model: Volvo 740 MK 1 - Years 1982-1993
Part: Instrument cluster

To dismantle the instrument cluster of the Volvo 740, first remove the black plastic trim. To do this, insert a metal tab like the one shown in the video into the gap at the side to release the clip holding the trim in place and pull the trim forward. This operation must be performed on both sides of the trim. Once the trim is removed, unscrew the screws that secure the instrument cluster. Now the instrument cluster is only held by the electrical cables, but it is free enough to access the back and remove the illumination bulbs.
