The immobilizer is an anti-theft device that prevents unauthorized starting of the vehicle. Each remote key has a unique code, and the vehicle starts only with the key that has the correct code.

Below are the errors that may appear on the dashboard display related to the immobilizer: "insert key": error reading the remote key during starting, try removing the key from the ignition and reinserting it. "Key not recognized": error reading the key, try removing and reinserting the key.
