The timing belt of the Volvo XC60 is located on the left side of the engine compartment. In order to remove it, it will be necessary to open the hood and access the left side of the engine block, under the corresponding protective panel. Once the panel has been removed, the underlying belt can be located and removed by loosening its tension. To loosen the tension, the belt tensioner pulley must be removed, and then the belt itself can be removed. The new belt must now be inserted around the pulleys, and tensioned by installing the tensioner pulley.
