Finding a gleaming engine bay when you open the bonnet is certainly pleasing, but you must take specific precautions before washing; perform the wash with the engine cold; protect the alternator and fuse box with a plastic bag; spray the appropriate cleaner using a sprayer and rinse with a pressure washer, keeping the pressure as low as possible; if necessary, repeat the steps and scrub the dirtiest areas; dry with compressed air before removing the bags and treat the plastic parts with a releasing spray for shine.
