In this video, we see how to remove the side fairing of the Yamaha T-MAX where the ECU is located: we start by removing the three visible screws on the sides of the vehicle, and then we remove the piece that is inserted by interlocking; then we move to the rear where there are screws, 4mm screws, and clips, then we move to the side fairing, where there are 10 visible screws plus an internal Allen screw, which must be removed after removing all the interlocks. First, however, we remove the interlocks of the footrests. Now comes the most delicate moment, that of removing the side panel without breaking anything. Underneath, we find two straps that must be removed and not cut - as shown by the youtuber - then four screws to remove and we can remove the tail section and consequently we can remove the fairing, which must be removed with a certain method and delicacy. To access the ECU, we must remove a screw on the front side, then with plastic levers we can lever and remove the front inner fairing and reach the wiring of the ECU and disconnect the three connectors to free the ECU.

Changing the Oil and Filter on the Kawasaki Versys

Here’s how to change the oil and filter on the Kawasaki Versys. Warm up the engine for a few minutes, place the motorcycle on the centre stand, open the filler cap, and remove the drain plug underneath the engine. Place a catch basin under the oil sump, unscrew the drain plug, and let the oil drain out. Unscrew the oil filter and let all the old oil drain out. Install a new filter and tighten it with the appropriate tool. Pour half a glass of new oil into the filler cap and wait for it to flow out of the drain hole, after which replace the plug. Fill with approximately 1.8 litres of new oil, take it for a short ride to circulate the oil in the engine, stop the engine, and check the level through the designated window. Top up if necessary.
