To change the engine oil of a Yamaha R6, make sure the bike is positioned on a stable stand and that the engine is warm to facilitate the draining of the oil. Remove the oil filler cap located on the side cover. Place a container under the engine and unscrew the drain plug with a wrench, allowing the used oil to completely drain out. Replace the oil filter with a new one by screwing it in by hand. Re-tighten the drain plug, ensuring it is secure. Pour the new oil through the filler cap, checking the level with the dipstick or window. Restart the engine for a few minutes, then check the level again and top off if necessary.
