Start by placing your Yamaha R6 on a central motorcycle stand, then start the engine and let it idle. After a couple of minutes, turn off the engine and position a container underneath the oil sump. Then, unscrew the lower plug of the oil sump. This will allow the engine oil to drain into the container. After this, re-screw the lower drain plug, then unscrew the upper filler cap. At this point, add the new engine oil, and you will have completed the replacement.
