To improve the comfort and handling of the Yamaha Tracer, adjust the preload of the rear shock absorber spring by compressing it when riding with a passenger and luggage, or loosening it for a softer ride. To do this, use the ring on the shock absorber body, utilising the hook-shaped spanner provided. Unfortunately, access to the ring is not easy, and considerable effort is required to move it, so it is advisable to obtain an extension to increase the leverage and a thinner spanner for better access in the confined space.
