Guide to Replacing Brake Pads

Model: Alfa Romeo 156 MK 1 - Years 1997-2007

Is it time to replace the brake pads? No problem, grab a jack and let's get to work.
First, lift the car on the side corresponding to the wheel where you intend to change the pads, remove the wheel, and proceed to remove the two pins as shown in the video; once the flat metal part is free, remove it.
Now, open the bonnet, unscrew the cap of the brake fluid reservoir, and ensure the level is not at maximum.
Return to the brakes; the guide recommends using only rubber or plastic-coated tools to remove the pads, to avoid damaging the paint on the brake calipers. For the inner pad, disconnect the connector for the wear indicator first; now insert the new pads, paying attention to the arrow indicating the direction of rotation.
Reinsert the pins, remembering to place the metal shim back in its housing.
Check the fluid level and then close the cap, refit the wheel, and after replacing both wheels on the axle, pump the brake pedal several times to bring the pistons closer to the pads.
This procedure was performed on the 156 GTA version.
