To reset the service light for an Alfa Romeo 156, you need to do it manually. Start by turning on the ignition of the vehicle and then press the plus and minus buttons on the central dashboard.

From the settings menu, select the service option and then set the next mileage for the service by pressing both buttons simultaneously. After completing these steps, turn off the ignition and then turn it on again to complete the service light reset.

For other Alfa Romeo models, the steps are similar, but newer technology allows for touch system execution.
