To activate Apple CarPlay on the MMI multimedia system of an Audi A1, start by accessing the "Connected devices" or "Bluetooth" section in the MMI system menu. Next, select the "Add device" option and follow the guided procedure to search for and pair your Apple device via Bluetooth.

Once your device has been detected and paired, look for the Apple CarPlay option in the MMI system menu. Select this option and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.

You may need to confirm the connection on your phone when prompted. Once the setup is complete, press the Apple CarPlay button on the MMI system and simultaneously confirm the connection on your phone.

This way, you should be able to activate and use Apple CarPlay on the multimedia system of your Audi A1.
