How do you replace the rear tailgate lock of the Audi Q7?

In order to replace the rear hatch lock of the Audi Q7, you will need to open the rear hatch so that you can locate the plastic inner lining: this can be removed from its position by loosening the screws that secure it to its housing. Once this panel has been removed, you will be able to locate the screws that secure the lock actuator from the inside: you will need to loosen them and disconnect the connector that is attached to the lock. The lock can now be completely removed and replaced with a new one, then reinsert the panel.
