How to Remove, Install, and Adjust the Headrests on the Audi A4 B9

Here’s how to remove, install, and adjust the front headrests on the Audi A4 B9: To raise and lower the headrest, press the side button located at the base of the support on the side of the seat, and while holding it down, move the headrest up or down. Release the button when you reach the desired height. If you need to completely remove the headrest, you will need the emergency key (the one contained in the remote). Remove it and insert it into the side slots located at the base of the headrest supports (there are holes or small indentations on both sides). By inserting the key into both sides, you unlock the catches. While holding the mechanisms unlocked with the key, lift the headrest up until it is completely removed. For reinstallation, insert the two metal rods into the holes on the seat and push down until you hear a "click" indicating that it is locked.
