How to Open a Stuck Fuel Door on an Audi A6

On the Audi A6, it is quite common for the fuel door to get stuck: in 90% of cases, it is not the mechanism, but an electric actuator (a small motor) that has jammed or the release cable that has misaligned. When the electric actuator gets stuck in the "closed" position, the only way to open the fuel door is to unscrew the filler neck from inside the wheel well (or from under the bumper) and pull it out, which will free the door. Then locate the central lock (the one that shows us the video), unscrew the 3 Torx screws that hold it, remove the lock, and after refueling, put it back in place: destination mechanic's shop.
