How to Change the Battery in an Audi A3 Remote (and Most Audi Vehicles)

To change the battery in an Audi A3 remote (and most Audis with a "smart" key from 2023 onwards), the procedure is simple. First, extract the metal blade by pressing the release button. Once the blade is out, reinsert it into the casing from which it came, but only partially: it will serve as a lever. Insert the blade into the casing and apply pressure at a specific point, towards the end of the stroke, as if the blade should come out completely. You will hear a click: the cover will partially lift. Open the cover completely: inside you will find the battery, which is a CR2032. Remove the old battery and insert the new one, ensuring the correct polarity. Close the cover by first aligning the tip, then pressing with your fingers until it clicks into place. Finally, reinsert the blade into the casing. Job done.
