Steering wheel replacement on an Audi A3

Model: Audi A3 MK 2, 8P - Years 2003-2013
Part: Steering wheel

The first thing to do if we want to remove a steering wheel is always to disconnect the airbag, then with a Torx wrench we unscrew the rear screws on the steering wheel that hold in place the central cap of the steering wheel where the safety device is housed. Now we can carefully lift it and then disconnect the airbag cable and store it. At this point in the central part of the steering wheel we will have a large screw that holds the steering wheel anchored on its axis, which after being removed will allow us to remove the steering wheel. During reassembly we pay attention to the two notches that on the steering wheel and on the axle show us the correct positioning of the same.

Removing the Rear Door Panel of the Punto Evo

Here’s how to remove the rear door panel: gently pull the window lift lever and detach the metal clip holding it in place using a flathead screwdriver; once removed, take off the plastic cap behind the door opening lever and unscrew the hex screw inside, along with the two screws located under the panel handle as shown in the video. After removing the two cross-head screws under the door panel, you can detach it from the door using two levers to extract the plastic clips (taking care not to break them). Once the panel is separated, disconnect the wire that operates the door opening lever by detaching it from its housing as demonstrated in the video. After completing the necessary operation (in the video, the window lifter was being fixed), proceed in reverse order to reposition the panel, close it, and secure it.
