Replacing the Axle Boot on Audi A4

Remove the wheel on the affected side and lift the vehicle. Take off the brake caliper from the brake rotor using some WD-40 and unscrewing the mounting bolts. Also, remove the brake rotor and then unscrew the central bolt, as clearly shown in the video. Position a jack stand under the axle and remove everything in front of the joint by unscrewing the bolts to access it. Clean the joint area with a suitable brush and cut the clamps, then you can unscrew it. Follow the video to complete the operation, removing the snap ring and proceeding in reverse for reassembly.

If the central locking system of the Volkswagen Golf 4 is not working, it is likely necessary to reset the system: to do this, open the driver's door and detach the side panel of the dashboard next to the steering wheel.
